JOHN FARRUGIA
  Doubting Thomas 1

The story of Doubting Thomas is found in the New Testament (John 20: 24-29) and describes the how one of Jesus disciples named Thomas refuses to believe that Jesus has risen from the dead until he himself is able to physically test and confirm this for himself. He does this by poking his finger into the side of Jesus where he had been cut with the spear whilst on the cross. The physical and tactile nature of seeing and touching in order to reassure oneself was a central concern of mine when composing this scene.
